Ciprofloxacin and hydrocortisone otic (for the ear) is a combination medicine used to treat infections in the ear canal. This medicine will not treat an inner ear infection (also called otitis media). You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to any antibiotic similar to ciprofloxacin (Cipro), such as gatifloxacin (Tequin), levofloxacin (Levaquin), lomefloxacin (Maxaquin), moxifloxacin (Avelox), norfloxacin (Noroxin), or ofloxacin (Floxin). Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. For best results, remove any ear wax or other debris before using this medicine. Ask your doctor about safe methods of ear wax removal. Use this medicine for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. Ciprofloxacin may cause swelling or tearing of a tendon (the fiber that connects bones to muscles in the body), especially in the Achilles' tendon of the heel. This effect may be more likely to occur if you are over 60, if you use steroid medication, or if you have had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant. Call your doctor at once if you have sudden pain, swelling, bruising, tenderness, stiffness, or movement problems in any of your joints. Rest the joint until you receive medical care or instructions. Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone (flor-o-KWIN-o-lone) antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. Ciprofloxacin is used to treat different types of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin is also used to treat people who have been exposed to anthrax or certain types of plague.

This includes bone and joint infections, intra abdominal infections, certain type of infectious diarrhea, respiratory tract infections, skin infections, typhoid fever, and urinary tract infections, among others. Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a wide variety of infections, including infections of bones and joints, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, malignant otitis externa, respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, urinary tract infections, prostatitis, anthrax, and chancroid. Ciprofloxacin only treats bacterial infections; it does not treat viral infections such as the common cold. For certain uses including acute sinusitis, lower respiratory tract infections and uncomplicated gonorrhea, ciprofloxacin is not considered a first-line agent. Ciprofloxacin occupies an important role in treatment guidelines issued by major medical societies for the treatment of serious infections, especially those likely to be caused by Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. For example, ciprofloxacin in combination with metronidazole is one of several first-line antibiotic regimens recommended by the Infectious Diseases Society of America for the treatment of community-acquired abdominal infections in adults. In other cases, treatment guidelines are more restrictive, recommending in most cases that older, narrower-spectrum drugs be used as first-line therapy for less severe infections to minimize fluoroquinolone-resistance development. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic that belongs to the family of medications known as quinolones. It is used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria. It is most commonly used to treat infections of the skin, sinuses, bone, lung, abdomen, kidney, prostate, and bladder. It can also be used to treat some sexually transmitted infections (STIs), some forms of infectious diarrhea, and typhoid fever. The extended release form of ciprofloxacin is used to treat bladder and kidney infections. This medication may be available under multiple brand names and/or in several different forms. Any specific brand name of this medication may not be available in all of the forms or approved for all of the conditions discussed here.

Hello everyone, I'm a male in my mid 20's. Back around January I started receiving counseling for a combination of anxiety and what I thought was attention deficit. After going through full testing for ADHD, the testing center's determination was that I actually had a panic disorder. The recommendation of the guy who worked with me was to find a therapist to work through and it to consider medication as a stop gap. They ended up prescribing me both Zoloft and Xanax. The zoloft for daily use to deal with my general anxiety and the xanax to use as needed when I have bad panic attacks (typically these only happen maybe once a month, maybe less). I've never been on any kind of medication before, so I just wanted to maybe talk through it with some folks who have been or previously used this stuff. Generally speaking my intention is that if I do start taking Zoloft daily, I don't want to need it for life.
